In all of my lifetime, I have estimated to read 3 to 5 books that have been challenged. The reason these books might have been challenged is mainly for violent, sexual, or graphic text that is not usually appropriate for teenagers and kids still in school. The book “Flight” could be challenged because of many reasons such as the language or violent and graphic events even though most violent acts in the book happen in everyday life. Some everyday violence or controversial topics in this book are drug abuse, depression, and suicide, as well as murder and many others. People can consider Zit’s life to be controversial because he is a murderer and an alcoholic and can argue that he is a terrible person, but the opposing side could also argue that he is a misunderstood kid who has been taught nothing better and just made one horrible mistake.
